Greetings

I am pleased to extend my best wishes to the organizers of LunarFest 2016 for bringing the sights and sounds of Asian culture and the Lunar New Year to Canadians.

Each year the festival attracts thousands of people, and this year features exciting performances and visual arts from 144 local artists. The Year of the Monkey provides an exciting theme for this year’s activities. I wish all of the participating artists the best of luck and thank them for enriching the culture of our great country.

I congratulate the Asian-Canadian Special Events Association and the volunteers who make the 8th edition of this event possible.  I wish you success in carrying out this celebration, and I thank the thousands of people who join in the festivities to make this success a reality.

As you gather with your families, friends, and communities to celebrate the beginning of the Year of the Monkey, I wish you all a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year.

Happy New Year!
